Lutron Excellence Awards 2021 "Best Use of Intelligent Lighting Systems (Ketra and/or Ivalo)" Winners!

We are so incredibly honoured to be announced a winner of the Lutron Excellence Awards for 2021! Our project at The Bridal Centre was recognized for our use of Ketra lighting in this commercial renovation.

For over forty years, The Bridal Centre has been the leader in wedding and special event attire in Western Canada. When the pandemic hit North America in early 2020 there was a severe and immediate impact on the wedding industry. While many stores in Calgary shut down, The Bridal Centre took the forced closure as an opportunity to renovate and reinvent. The owners of the Bridal Centre decided to give the entire building a ground up refresh that would not only provide the best retail fashion experience around, but would also serve dual purpose as a private event venue. Bright Home Systems started work in mid 2020. Our goal was to ensure the Ketra lighting system would be able to transform the space from a high CRI retail environment to a nightclub/party atmosphere with no compromises and with a focus on ease of use. The new lighting system allows consultants to simulate any time of day or event with the push of a keypad button.

The main floor showroom features Ketra lighting that is constantly shifting through colours which gives an incredible sense of movement and excitement to the space. Having the ability to transform the lighting from retail to special event so seamlessly has made the Ketra solution an invaluable part of the Bridal Centre’s new look. This project pushes the capability of Homeworks QSX and Ketra to the limit. We’ve created a solution for our client that bridges the gap between theatrical moving lighting and static commercial/residential solutions. They are able to showcase their product and their space in the best light regardless of the time of day and are able to provide an experience for their clients that doesn’t exist anywhere else.

It was very important to the Bridal Centre that their clients would be shown in the best light at all times. A lot of work has gone into curating colours and intensity to ensure the space is warm and inviting at all times. We also had to ensure we provided amazing lighting moments to showcase the many feature areas of the project. The gold leaf wall being grazed by Ketra linear fixtures and accented by track lights turned out amazingly well and the entire feel of the room seems to morph as the colours slowly phase in and out. Similarly, the lighting automatically comes to life when you step into the “sexy bathroom” off of the main bar area. We worked directly with the interior design team throughout this project to ensure the Ketra lighting would push the design elements to the next level.
